The L'Oréal Paris Color Riche Fixing and Unifying Eye Shadow Primer product review

At the time of writing this post I'm approaching one week post op and my skin looks terrible. I've had two operations for various things within the last four months and both times my skin dried out, peeled and then eventually became really greasy and shiny. I did a quick Google search and apparently this is a common reaction post surgery due to the anti-bacterial scrub that is used. Other forum users have also suggested that the skin peels because of the swelling which causes the skin to flake or peel. I've tried combatting this flakiness with exfoliating scrub and my usual daily moisturiser but neither seem to have helped. In both cases I couldn't wear make up for a few days as the surgery was carried out on my face. It was after a few days that I noticed my skin started to over-produce on oils (which I assumed was compensating for the lack of make up) and then my skin eventually dried out in patches on my nose and across my cheeks. I keep slathering moisturiser on these areas but unfortunately the flaky patches will not budge. The skin does return to normal however after suffering a trauma. As a result of my recent op I've obviously been unable to try out any new facial products so instead I've opted to review a recent eyeshadow primer purchase.

The L'Oréal Paris Color Riche Fixing and Unifying Eye Shadow Primer is essentially like a concealer for your eyes. The product is a reasonably sized pencil which is somewhat aesthetically pleasing and looks quite expensive for a priming pencil. The gold and black bands around the white pencil automatically make it seem more appealing. The L'Oréal Paris Color Riche Fixing and Unifying Eye Shadow Primer is a little heavy so it can be particularly cumbersome applying it to your eyelids. I dragged the L'Oréal Paris Color Riche Fixing and Unifying Eye Shadow Primer over my eyelids and rubbed it in with my finger. The L'Oréal Paris Color Riche Fixing and Unifying Eye Shadow Primer goes onto the lids like a pale concealer and has the same thick texture. I found it quite difficult to drag the pencil along my eyelid and found that rubbing it in works best. Although the L'Oréal Paris Color Riche Fixing and Unifying Eye Shadow Primer looks impressive there is no twist mechanism at the end of the pencil but I assume you can sharpen it. Although after reading other reviews online others seem to be disappointed with the amount of product in the pencil so it seems unlikely that you can sharpen it. It's quite disappointing for a pencil that's priced between £4.75 and £8.95 depending on the retailer.

I tried some of the gold colours from my MUA eyeshadow palette as I know they often slip from my eyelids during the day. I found that with using the L'Oréal Paris Color Riche Fixing and Unifying Eye Shadow Primer I needed to apply a few coats of eyeshadow to hide the nude colour of the primer. I really had high hopes for the L'Oréal Paris Color Riche Fixing and Unifying Eye Shadow Primer but unfortunately there was noticeable colour transference by the end of the day to the top of my eyes. I'm willing to persevere with this product as it has high ratings on the internet but it unfortunately failed at the first test with the MUA eyeshadow palette.
