Priced at just 99p from the Cosmetics Fairy website, I was sceptical of trying this product as often cheap make-up has a bad reputation. When I originally purchased the Isa Dora eye shadows some time ago, I bought grey (named Woodland) and white, and was pleasantly surprised to find that it stays put all day. I have tried other more expensive eye shadows such as Avon or Urban Decay that promise not to slide off the face, but have always been disappointed by the products.
I use a moisturising primer on my face (except on my eyes) to help set my make-up. I’ve heard, that the Urban Decay primer (ranging from between £8-£19.50) should be used as a base coat for eye shadow. With Isa Dora however, a primer is unnecessary as it stays put all day. I apply the white eye shadow first in the corners of my eyes and then proceed with the colour, blending the colours on my eyelid. This helps to illuminate and brighten the eyes as you’re essentially manipulating light by using the light colours in the corners.
I was so impressed with the grey and white eye shadows that I recently bought the Gold Light colour and have not been disappointed. I particularly like the sponge applicator that comes with the eye shadow as usually they're stiff and hard to use. The sponge applicators' are soft and easy to clean. It makes sweeping the colour across your eyes effortless.
The retailer has since expanded their colour palette to include:
- Cacaoa Dream (a rich chocolate colour).
- Autumn Green (a dark olive green).
- Lemon Grass (a bright green).
- Sparkling Mauve and Flashy Pink all priced at 99p.
It is a long-lasting powder that will not let you down. I hope you like it as much as I do.
P.S. I've also posted this review on the Cosmetics Fairy website so if you come across it I haven't copied someone else, it was me.
