Paradise Miracle Tan or Nivea Body Lotion moisturiser? Review

As some of you may know I've just returned from a long stint away working on an archaeological dig. I was both naïve and slightly stupid not to have packed any moisturiser while I was away. I honestly thought I would make a conscientious effort to use suntan lotion every day so there would be no need for moisturisers or after sun. In total I had about a week of sunshine during the nine weeks and often it would sneak up on us during the day. It's those overcast cloudy days where you think there's no need for sun tan lotion that caught me out. I'm not proud to say that hard to reach areas like my shoulders and the back of my arms burnt a deep red colour. Despite my best efforts to cover up I wasn't as prepared as I should have been.

Ergo a trip to the nearest supermarket for moisturiser was needed. The cheapest, and inevitably my purchase, was Nivea's Body Lotion Express Hydration with Ultra Fast Absorption. I'm not entirely sure why Nivea keep releasing new moisturisers as they all seem to have the same consistency and formula. I found this quite a thick moisturiser which was perfect for my parched skin but sadly it didn't stop me peeling a few weeks later. True to it's word the moisturiser is fast absorbing into the skin which means you can get dressed quickly afterwards without waiting for it to dry. Ironically Nivea market the formula as the lightest that they offer but I still found it thick.

Had I thought to pack moisturiser my go to choice would be Paradise Miracle Tan Tropical Formula post tan moisturiser by Tesco. This was a purchase that I made from the reduced section years ago and when I run out I'll definitely be replacing it. Although after a quick Google search it doesn't seem to be available anymore. It's a shame as this is a very light formula that absorbs super quick into the skin. It leaves a pleasant smell that reminds you of holidays (or sun tan lotion at the very least). I was really surprised by this product and didn't expect it to work as it was so cheap. The only downside is that it comes in a pump bottle and as I'm fast approaching the end, I can no longer squirt out a lot of moisturiser. Unlike most formulas this is a light biscuit colour rather than the thick creamy white solution most will be familiar with. A little goes a long way with this 200ml bottle as it really works to soothe and hydrate burnt skin. It's cheaper than after sun and does the same job it's just hard to get a hold of now.
