Je t'aime July Glossybox review

I've started a new subscription based service to replace the Birchbox subscription. I haven't used all of the products in the June box yet so I'm skipping ahead to review July's. I was really exited by this month's box as the design is French themed. The unusual cartoon drawings that adorn the sides of the box are designed by an up and coming fashion artist Jamie Lee Reardin.

In my experience the boxes are always well-wrapped and presented. With layers of tissue paper and ribbon making it look like a present to yourself. This month's box is perfect for those travelling abroad. The bundle is packaged in an unusual gel like pouch which sports the same French cartoon designs as the box. The zip lock pack is handy and convenient to store toiletries in and as it's clear, you can slip it in your hand luggage to display your liquids. There's four small samples in this month's box and retails at around £52. First up was the Lip Balm Delicieuse by Lollipops. The 10ml tube retails at £4.15 and reminds me a lot of the Anatomicals Stop Cracking Up lip gloss. [Click here for my Anatomicals lipgloss review]. The tube is a sugar cute pink and white design that looks good enough to eat. It has a slightly odd aftertaste which I said the same for the Anatomicals lip gloss. It's quite a greasy lip gloss and I feel that it really tries to soothe cracked lips. The description states a creamy balm but it's more a creamy gloss. It's packed full of antioxidants and vitamin E as well as protecting the lips from UV damage. I don't think it has an SPF in the formula so it's better suited to the winter months when the sun isn't as strong. I really liked this lip gloss but I didn't feel that it softened my cracked lips. If you reapply the gloss throughout the day it maintains smoothness but once it slides off, my lips remained cracked. My boyfriend helped me test this out and after a quick kiss he said it tasted weird and left his lips tingly. There's a rather pleasant vanilla scent that isn't too overpowering.

Although the colour scheme is red, white and blue this month's products are all pink and white. Next up in the collection was the Yves Rocher Comme Une Evidence Eau De Parfum. The 50ml bottle retails at £24.50 and the company promise to use recyclable cardboard in their packaging. I really liked the little glass bottle this came in as the curved shape of the glass is unusual. Sadly, I've used this for a few days and couldn't smell it. The write up suggests that the fragrance is light and floral with a hint of roses. I'll keep it in my handbag and come back to this one.

Finally, I used the last two products in conjuction with one another. The NoxiDoxi Enhancing Serum Base is applied morning and evening before the application of a face cream. I used the serum first then applied my moisturiser, primer and then make up. The Teoxane Cosmeceuticals Perfect Skin Refiner is a night cream that works to renew the stress of the day on the face. It's recommended that you use the skin refiner every other night. I didn't notice an immediate difference to my skin although when I woke up the next morning my skin was oily and greasy. The Teoxane Skin Refiner went on quite smoothly and has the same consistency as the Clarins moisturiser that I've previously sampled. [Click here for my Clarins review]. I didn't notice an overpowering or strong scent but I don't think it'll replace my current night moisturisers.

I was however pleasantly surprised by the NoxiDoxi Enhancing Serum Base. The product is distributed through a long nozzle and when squeezed comes out yellow. It's quite a light product and blends easily on the face. Again I didn't notice an immediate difference when using this but I did notice a slight vanilla scent when applied. The product was a little greasy at first when I applied it but it soon blended in to the skin. The write up suggests that the Teoxane Skin Refiner makes the face tingle when first applied but I seemed to experience this with NoxiDoxi instead. Interestingly, both products can be used during the day despite the Teoxane Skin Refiner stating that it is a night cream on the bottle. I'm not convinced either will replace my daily moisturisers especially as Teoxane retails at £70 and NoxiDoxi at £33.46.
