I'd read good reviews about both the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo and SkinPep Dark Circle Eye Remover so I was excited to try them out. La Roche is essentially a mixture between a facial serum and a moisturiser and is designed to unclog pores and target problem areas. As well as this the product promises to calm down any skin irritation or redness. This was another product that I wasn't entirely sure about.
I'm not sure if I'd had the product too long but when I applied the product, the moisturiser had separated from the serum. It was partly a white blob of moisturiser and oily serum that came out of the tube. I wasn't entirely sure how to use this product either as the French instructions don't specify on the small sample bottle. Originally, I attempted to use this as a moisturiser but really it's only suited for small problem areas and not all over coverage.
I didn't notice an immediate change to my face nor a visible difference. My face did feel smooth however but this may have been a result of the toner I'd used before this. I couldn't smell anything from the product but others have described it like seaweed. Having read other reviews of the product I feel I would like to continue using it.
As I used it as a moisturiser and applied it all over, it really targeted the dry patches on my face. So much so that there was an obvious tingling and burning sensation on these areas. It's definitely not ideal for dry areas of skin but I may also have had an allergic reaction to it or simply had the product too long. With this in mind I won't finish the sample as I didn't notice an immediate difference and the tingling sensation was really unpleasant.
I also tried the SkinPep Dark Circle Eye Remover this week as part of my beauty routine. I liked the idea of this product but unfortunately I didn't notice a visible difference at all. I used the sample for a few days but I really couldn't get a feel for the product. The small sachet sample was difficult to use. After a days' use the product congeals at the top of the packet and dries so it's difficult to apply. The impractical design of the sachet meant that when I first squeezed it, the product came oozing out which wasted quite a bit. A small tube of 15ml retails at a whopping £44.99 and 'promises anti-oxidants to boost collagen.' I can't really provide a fair analysis of this product as the sachet was something of a hindrance. The small tube comes with a precision applicator which would make applications much easier than the sachet received. The difference wasn't immediately noticeable so I'm not convinced to buy the full size tube to see if it works.
