I've never really been one for the drawn on eyebrow look as it doesn't appeal to me to draw and shade your eyebrows on darker than what they should be. I am fully aware that I get carried away with stray hairs and over pluck my brows. Often I'm left with only half a brow but honestly I never assumed it was visible. Often you have to get right up close to my face to see where my eyebrows end which shows you how much I over pluck them. I usually drag an eyebrow brush up and against the direction of hair growth and then pluck the strays this way. Although it's effective I'm often left with chunks that are missing hair and it looks odd. I never trim my eyebrows so the hair's are quite long. I often have one rogue hair out of place but because it's long when I pull it out, my face is bare. So cue the brilliant Constance Carroll eyebrow pencil in 1 Black. I've tried eyebrow pencil's before but found them too light (in the case of Rimmell London Professional eyebrow pencil in dark brown) or didn't provide enough coverage.
The Constance Carroll in black is the perfect shade for my pale complexion and dark hair. I played around with this when I first bought it and I've found that the lightest of touches covers those bare areas. If you press down hard and shade over the brows it channels this silly drawn on look and makes your face look severe. I apply a feather light touch along my brow making sure that I follow the outline of my brow and colour over the existing hair. I've taken to holding it quite high up at the pencil (as if holding a long paintbrush) and either dot or flick the pencil along the brow. It takes less than two minutes and it makes my brows look fuller and defines my face. As for where my brow tapers off at the end I lightly shade along the area to provide shape to the brow. It also acts as an illusion and makes your brows appear fuller.
The eyebrow pencil was another purchase from the Cosmetics Fairy website priced at just 75p. I originally mistook the eyebrow pencil for eyeliner so stocked up when I first bought it. Surprisingly, it's now a regular feature in my make up bag and I use it all the time. It stays put all day which is even better, I just have to make a conscientious effort not to wipe my hands along my face as I often do. I never thought I would jump on this trend and I'd like to think I don't shade my brows too dark. This is the only colour available at the moment on the website but there are other brands and colours depending on your skin tone and hair colour.
Unfortunately my camera is useless to take a before and after photo but I'll keep trying and update this if successful x.
